This is just getting ridiculous now. Guan is a vet compared to this lad.

12 year old hitting the European tour.

No matter how good anybody is at anything in life you can bet there is some Chinese kid out there that is better.

Even at 12 he's already become a cliche:

"My main aim this week is just to go out there and enjoy it,"

Got the Nike hat too. Wonder if he has a bad round will he mentioned something about "Just trying to grind it out out there"

A good solid 79 to start. Lack of distance at that age is going to make it so hard to score.

Even at 12 he's being sterotyped as being a cliche ;)
Give him a break Loire :)

What do you, or a report expect, when the reporter is asking such a cliched question.

Did you expect him to say something like "My main aim this week is to miss the cut because there's a teenage disco on in the community centre on Saturday night and I want to be back for that"

OK I was a bit harsh :o but it'd be refreshing to see someone as young as him jumping around with excitement.

What a horror show, he'll never do on tour with those kind of scores.

I hear ya, media training is successfully eliminating the personality from sports personalities.

I think there should be a minimum age for a player on any tour. 12 is too young for the pressure that is on that lads shoulders this weekend both from himself and the media circus following him. Fair play to be at a level to be able to take part but it can't be good.

There's something not quite right about this........one kid would be a novelty but I wonder if there's a conveyor belt of these kids being 'programmed' for golf a la East Germany in the old days. No denying the Chinese want to show us lazy Westerners that their 'culture/work ethic' is superior to ours........would not like to be in these kids shoes if they don't make the grade.............
