Can anybody tell me if an hour with an instructor in the US counts for my SEP re-validation? I have my 6 x-country hours and 12 TOs/Landings in the last year however I'm wondering if the hour with an instructor has to be in Ireland or would the hour with the guy in the US count too?

It would count if the instructor was a JAA/EASA instructor (any country of issue) in addition to an FAA one. Otherwise unfortunately not.

Also, don't forget the reval requirements in addition to your 12 takeoffs/landings are 12 hours of which 6 are PIC (not necessarily x-country) in the 12 months preceding expiry
