Have a 2 year old PowerPoint microwave which recently tripped the power while it was not being used ... Any time it's plugged back in it just trips the power ... Any suggestions ?
Is this an example of modern electronics not lasting

Have you tried it in another socket?

Had another brand tripping when during being used we would press the open door button.
After a while the socket was shorting and had to be changed, unrelated I don't know.

Does it trip the RCD or MCB?

usually the door safety switches cause this. check if either of the plastic lock latches are broken off.
Otherwise its wear in the latches or, loose switches. not worth repairing..
