..and the possible segregation of church and state and legalization of cannabis. Could Enda kenny become Ireland's most radically reformative Taoiseach if they measures get legalized?

Of course not,Catholic Ireland is still alive and well in Fine Gael. The only reform he'll touch is abortion (because he has to) and they'll make the process as convoluted as possible to satisfy the Catholic fundies.Any other issues will be ignored by claiming the economy is the most important topic.Enda's more conservative than a lot of people seem to think, and expecting social reform from a centre-right party that is only concerned with the economy is rather naive.

Clearly his hands are tied on the abortion issue. Don't expect reform on anything else unless the rabble rabble can be heard from inside Leinster House.

Euthanasia, separation of church and cannabis wont be touched.

If any major change comes regarding abortion and gay marriage, I'll have a lot more respect for the current government. It wont be much respect, just more then they currently get from me.

Enda is not in any major rush for same sex marriage. Hence the reason why it went to Constitutional Convention in the first place. He could claim it's a matter for the convention. Now that the convention has voted in favour he has four months to come back with a proposal and timeline. At best this will be late next year. At worst it will sit in limbo until after the next election.

    Sounds like a bad idea.

If anything does happen as regards gay marriage, seperation of church and state or any other issue the church has its fingers buried in it will be more down to Labour throwing tantrums than Fine Gael thinking about disagreeing with the almighty church

I know yeah. AH has never discussed Enda or abortion or gay marriage before

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
