    hi guys,
some friends are boating on the shannon in the coming weeks and will be visiting kilglass lake for a spot of fishing. does anybody know of a pub/resturant on the lake shore area that would be easily accessible from a cruiser type boat?

    any help gratefully appreciated.

There's the Silver Eel between Strokestown and Kilmore, nice pint, pool table, nice dock beside it, never ate in it so can't comment on the food.

As with any rural pub you might want to ring in advance to see what their normal opening hours are, as a lot of them don't open during the day any more.

    Thanks Red Kev,
The Silver Eel looks just right! And right on the water too icon14.png

Some additional info for anyone reading this thread.. I met up with my friends at the silver eel pub.. a lovely spot for boating, fishing and eating. the harbour is easily accessible provided one is careful, there are sand banks at both entrances so stay in the centre and one should be ok.
