Hi, I'm new to this thread. I bought myself a nice old Peugeot bike today which. I really like. M interested in the old road bikes. It's in pretty good condition but the gears are in need of adjusting. Does anyone know if this is expensive to fix, or even better, is it something I could do myself? Thanks

Hi,

Check out YouTube for videos. Easy to do. Just be patient

It's a Presta adapter you will need.

That valve stem is too narrow for the hole in the rim. You need either a Schraeder (car) valve or you need to place the lockring of the presta valve inside the wheel rim. Otherwise the tube will be damaged by the hole leading to punctures.
