Surprised it hasn't been put up already but Mubtadi runs in the 4.50 Bath. Had it priced up at 6/4 and the 5/2 available looks an absolute steal. Should win easily, especially since switching back to turf with reports that'll suit better than the AW.

I've backed Prince of Burma in same race e/w at 6/1

Wouldn't be quick to call it a steal, won by a head last time out off 6 pounds lower and all the wins have been on Polytrack. I can see why bookies would be keen to take him on (but did have a few lbs in hand last time)

Won with a lot in hand, jockey was way too cocky. Supposedly even better on turf as well

Apparently Mubtadi isn't a fan of the whip. I know he still won cosily but there is a reluctance from Brown to use it on this horse.

Hope a few were on, drifted to 9/4

Really fancy King of jazz in the 3.40 at Yarmouth today. 4/1

I fully expect Mubtadi to go in again and 9/4 is definitely a fair price to do so. Won comfortably on his last start (despite Thomas Brown scaring the **** out of everyone) and there is no doubt in my mind that he is still on a good mark. Brown and connections have stated that he should be even better on turf and although I believe their comments to be true this is clearly a different kettle of fish from the All Weather races he has been winning. I lumped on him for his last win but am slightly scaling down my bet given the different proposition he faces today. Now 16lb higher than when his winning run started, he is still 8lb below a mark he was beaten a head off in a Class 2 handicap on the turf and given that I feel he is a better horse now than he was back then since subsequently gelded I am confident he can land this 5 timer and keep in tact the perfect record he and the excellent Thomas Brown possess.

Tight Fit is interesting here in handicaps now.

I had a little nibble on Mubtadi last time. So I'll play again today.

Was backed into 7/4 from 7/2 in a matter of minutes. And beaten a neck.

Wouldn't be mad about him considering the drift and how well he was supported the last couple if times. No bet for me this time but good luck to those going in. Hope he wins

Get in there! Bit too confident though Thomas Brown, I know the horse doesn't like the whip but it was way too close for comfort this time.

Serious good ride from Brown there, thought it had no chance when it was off the bridle.

The horse that just keeps giving! Thats the 4th time I've been on him now since his winning sequence started and he has made me a truck load! What an intelligent ride by Thomas Brown. Dropped back to the rear because he needed cover which was not ideal at all. Although he won by the tiniest of margins, he seemed to be doing nothing in front and Brown showed another fantastic bit of riding to bring Mubtadi right beside the challenger Hierarch which got his mount to give that tiny bit extra to win. I'll be on him again NTO regardless of the weight rise (can't see it being too much though) as he was comfortably the best horse in the race and it was his idling that saw the margin of victory so minute.

I'll have to watch it again as I was watching on a stream, my first instinct was that he should have won a bit more easily. Bastard Brown likes giving me heart palpitations.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,370 ✭✭✭rossom

Mubtadi definitely has to be one of the forum's favourite horses at this stage and that won't be the end of his winning either!

At the prices I like Knocklong in the next at Ballinrobe.

Kandiski has been heavily punted 655 Ballinrobe. 11/4 into 13/8. Often a few right gambles landed at that track.

First time they have a proper jockey on it,was given a disgraceful ride last time by sweeney,I wouldnt touch it now at the prices too short to back,Id be with Aranhill chief and kilbixy at 20/1 plus.

I'm just going to watch it. I've seen loads of gambles landed at Ballinrobe, but they're usually 25's into 7's types rather than shorties! Unfortunately, i havnt been on half enough of them. Still, worth keeping an eye on. Worcester feed still gone. Hard to believe in 2013.

Aidan O Brien begins every other sentence with the word "listen". Gordon Elliott was either taking the piss there or has now picked up the same habit.
