Waterless Car Cleaning

Anyone used any of these services before? Had been given a voucher from one of the deals sites and used it recently. Had to go off for the day so wasn't there when they were doing it. Came back a few hours later and inspected the car. I'm fairly sure there are a few new scratches on it. It didn't seem overly clean either considering it was a wash, polish and wax.

Thinking about it now it sounds like an awful way to wash a car i.e. how to you make sure any loose debris is removed before the wash.

Not the first time i've been unhappy with a clean given to the car. Generally do the job myself.

The only place I remember ever being impressed by the attention given to the car was a place somewhere around Phibsboro I think it was but can't remember the name.

It's done near our office and I cringe whenever I see it.

My paintwork wouldn't be 100% as is but i'm fairly sure it does have a few extra scratches. Lesson learned and should have done my research. I also thought it didn't look very polished.

Have been doing a bit of googling since I wrote the thread and it sounds like these products claim to polish and wax as part of the cleaning process which doesn't sound to great!

Seen this video too which explains it all really i.e. its a bit of a scam as the car their cleaning only looks to have a bit of dust on it that was probably purposely put on a properly cleaned car!

Waterless cleaning works great once you wash, clay, de-tar, polish and wax your car immediately before you drop it in.

Even though it was advertised as waterless or eco I was still actually surprised when they said they wouldn't need any water.

Sounds about right. I'll be washing the car myself to finish off the job

I wouldn't do it to a scrapped car!!

That video you linked, in the amount of time he spent on the bonnet and windscreen, you'd have the whole car washed and sprayed down using the 2BM. All you have to do then is dry it and if you use a proper wax on it, it will take less time and less effort compared to what your man is doing to the bonnet.

Waterless car scratchers washes are the devil incarnate.

Noticed this part from the service advertised: scuff and minor scratch removal, paint renovation.

This sounds like a really pointless service in Ireland!

Basically give them more money to repair the damage they did in the first place.

I actually went for a quote on a paint restoration not long ago to a place on your recommendation but never got round to it as i'm thinking of changing cars soon. Can't remember the name of the place but I think it was in Phibsboro or close. Big yard on a corner.

Yup thats the one. Are they still on the go? Not much on their website. Had a car wash while I was there and was very impressed by their attention to detail.

Realised how taxing that type of work must be though as the main guy had a wrap around his back and had to stretch every few minutes. If i'm ever getting any work like that done it'd definitely be them i'd go to

As far as I know they are. The site is very empty but it serves a purpose and that's about it.

The stretching is something every detailer has to do every so often :pac:
