    Hi,

    New to this so not sure if im posting in the right place.

    Looking to buy an Audi A4 2007 2Litre Diesel 140 BHP S-line and trying to find out if anyone has some advice on common problems that this car might have or things to look out for with it? For example, do certain items have to be replaced at certain mileage and so on? I read on here somewhere that there were problems with the fuel injectors for the 170 BHP model and was seeing if anyone knew if there was something similar for the 140 BHP model.

    Also, anyone have advice on the max mileage they would go when buying one of these?

    not sure about problems, but if you come up one year (08) u will get the low road tax.......other wise its worth nothing in a trade in after a few years.

    And spend €4k or €5k extra for the previlage, how much motor tax does that buy?

    The injector issues suffered by the 170bhp A4s are not shared by the 140bhp version. In any case the troublesome Siemens injectors as fitted to the 170bhp engine are now the subject of a recall so are no longer anything to worry about.

    The main thing you need to watch out for with one of these engines is oil pump/balance shaft drive failure. This has been covered numerous times on the forum. Here is some info I posted a while back:

    Engine aside that shape A4 is a solid and reliable machine once you buy a good one and keep on top of maintenance. Be very careful when looking as there are lots of clocked and/or abused examples around.

    If your still looking for audi check out pistonheads.co.uk.

    Im currently looking at an a4 or a6 2006 - 08. great value just check vrt.ie for the price on bringing it in. It will still work out cheaper than buying it here.
