No electricity, iPhone battery running out...

So our electricity has been gone since about 1 today, it came back twice but only for a couple of seconds. Now my iPhone battery is at 37%, no iPhone means no hotspot feature which means no Internet. What do I do when it runs out?

Stick a fork in the socket, jiggle (the fork) and wait.

    That oughta work.

Because they tell you. I must admit I am completely guilty of this.

This is part of my plan, however I think I can make you all hate me a little more if I tell you I no longer read real books, just ebooks....... On my iPad :p

    We are now at 33%.

If you shove the phone down your jocks the heat will help conserve the battery.

You've got 45 minutes OP to do what I did Saturday when my phone battery was running low and I happened to be out in a shopping centre-

Pop into your nearest phone shop and ask them behind the counter to charge up your phone. Leave it with them and come back half an hour later, at least you'll get enough charge in it to call your electricity supplier and tell them get the finger out!

Hotspot for what exactly. If you are using it as a hotspot for laptops, then plug it into the laptop.
At least then you can use it until everything runs out of power.

Bring down the brightness to 50 percent. That should give you some extra time.

Substitute "phone shop" for "large pub". This way your phone will be charged, and possibly stolen - but you will be too drunk to notice or care by the time its charged up.

Using it with my ipad at the mo but will check and see what kind of charge is in the laptop, rang ESB networks and they said that they fixed the fault and and now they have another fault so it will be atleast 2 hours, this could get serious guys, keep the ideas coming and say a prayer for me :p

Yes, a solemn novena always helps at times like this.

I do that too, well, I hand it in behind the bar and staff never have a problem charging it for me. Then when I'm finished my lunch or whatever, I just collect the phone from behind the bar!

It's all great having a smartphone, but jesus the amount of times you get caught short is bloody annoying! I can't put a spare batttery in it because it's a Nokia N8, the back doesn't come off.

I can at least get a full day out of it on a full charge though, but if I forget to charge it overnight, it's usually low battery by mid-day :(

Why is it that 80% of the people talking about iphones/andriods, are complaining about the battery?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,085 ✭✭✭meoklmrk91

Right so the iphone is now hooked up to the laptop, it's sucking the life out of it literally, I think I will get an hour tops from the laptop, then I will continue to use whatever power the iPhone has absorbed with the iPad, I feel like I have a good plan here, for now atleast.

iPhone battery 26%, Laptop battery 73%.

So you're now using your iphone, ipad and laptop?

Go to your local Eurospar and ask them if you can fill up a bucket with some of their electricity.

Just the iPhone and the Laptop for now, conserving the ipad for when the laptop dies. It's all part of a master plan.

    iPhone 31% Laptop 65%

If iphones support wired tethering, I'd advise you to use that instead and disabling wifi on your laptop and phone. Hotspot mode is pretty hard on battery.

Reminds me of a girl we went camping with who packed the world's biggest hair dryer.

She unpacked it, looked a bit lost for a few minutes and my friend said "Plug it into a tree !".

Now this becomes a Mac Vs PC debate. I'll get the ball rolling by setting fire to my neighbours house, I'm pretty sure I saw them with an iPad, or looking at one somewhere.

Easy solution, charge the phone from your laptop and charge your laptop from your phone.

Probably not the wisest of things to be at all things considered, but sure I'm doing fück all else tbh....

Have you considered plugging it in in your car?
Or maybe going to a friend's house?

I bought a portable charger (like a power monkey) on ebay for a tenner. I get two charges out of it. I always have it in my bag just in case I forget to charge or I'm staying overnight somewhere.

I'm just sorting out the OP's iPhone charging problems. I charge a LOT extra for life coaching!
