One bet for me today in the shape of Donald McCain's Vinstar in the first at Kelso at a price of 7/2.

Vinstar won a 3 runner bumper race in France on his debut on Good to soft ground. The horse that finished third that day has came out and won Listed and Grade 3 hurdle races on his next two starts.

On his debut for Donald McCain he won a bumper comfortably by 8 lengths making all at Carlisle running on strongly that day.

On his next start he finished second to Runswick Royal which has turned out to be quite nice form with Runswick Royal going on to win a pair of novice hurdles before a fast finishing second in the Grade 1 4 year old hurdle at Aintree.

On Vinstars final bumper start he was seen finishing second to the potenially useful Johnny Og at Catterick giving him nearly a stone.

Today he is recieving weight as he is a 4 year old. The obvious danger is the favourite who ran a blinder on debut but at 7/2 I think Vinstar is quite a nice price.

done Viva Vettori - 3:50 Wolverhampton, if he retains his ability of 18 months ago he should win well.

Tactics were strange on Vinstar, wasn't good enough though.

Jolly's Boys Outings 6/1 into 3/1 in the next at Towcester. Back down to a winnable mark at a track he loves.

    7.25 Lingfield

    Alices Dancer 33/1

Only having a small bet on her but I firmly believe that William Muir's talented yet temperamental filly has enough ability to win this if everything falls right for her. Racing here off a mark of 82, she takes a big drop in class having run on a bit in the closing stages of her seasonal reappearance at Kempton earlier this month (still beaten 9L) in a race that didn't suit those held up and she is also only 1lb above her last winning mark last August when getting up in the closing stages to win going away. Furthermore, she absolutely flew home to be beaten only 3L despite starting very slowly at Salisbury over 6f last September off a mark of 84 in a much better contest than this which emphasises both her temperament and ability. She's well drawn here in stall 3 as she drops back from a Class 2 contest to this Class 4 race and if everything goes right for her I think she has more than enough talent to get involved off her current rating. There seems to be quite a bit of pace on which should suit this hold up filly and although she may be well beaten if not fancying things if everything goes to plan, which the little bit of money around would suggest, she may surprise a few and go in at a big price.

I assume you mean the 7:25 at Leafy, or else it's the worst case of aftertiming ever. :D
