sorry if this is the wrong place to post, i got a gas bbq from b and q for 79 euro, quite cheap, when i went to connect to my gas barrel the regulator doesnt fit, have i got the wrong gas barrel or do i need to change the regulator ?? need help before the rain comes back

you quite possibly have the wrong gas.
is it the grey calor gas canister? You don't want the yellow one. I made that mistake. B and Q should swap it out for you no problem.

its the yellow one !!!! oh dear, so is it the grey coloured barrel i need, i normally have charcoal

Change the regulator, it's much easier to get yellow bottle refills.

AFAIK,

Yellow = Butane gas
Grey = Propane gas

Different regulators for both.
