Whenever I load up a game on my PS3, the fan will start going nuts with the loudness. This'll go on for like 5 or 6 minutes before it shuts up. Why is this? Do I need to clean out the fan or anything? And, should I be worried?

I have the new PS3 model that came out last year, if that helps.

Are you sure it's the fan, the super slim while it runs cooler is louder due to the disc drive not being as isolated from you.

Vacuum it and use some compressed air.

I was actually expecting a youtube vid of a PS3 fanboy just going mental in his room for 5 minutes.

Does the same noise happen when you load a downloaded game? ie. no disc in the ps3 to determine if it is the fan or the disc drive.
