State Benefits after working as contractor?

Luckily enough, I've been steadily employed (PAYE) and have a history of stamps that I can rely on when I get made redundant next month, to obtain 9 months JS Benefit.

I'm being considered for a 6 month contract position (non-PAYE) with another firm, and I'm not sure what I need to do to continue to pay stamps. Is it something that I pay at year end when I do my accounts, or something that I would pay revenue monthly?

Is is even an option to pay stamps when working as a contractor?

    thx

In a nutshell, I guess the question is, is it possible to pay Class A stamps while self employed, with the only advantage being 9 months of JSB.
