I know that writing for The Star isn't quite the zenith of a political commentator's career, but I'm sure this guy is getting nicely reimbursed for his thoughts so I'm gonna let loose.

At first this fella really boiled my piss, came across as a serial moaner, but after a while I no longer found it possible to take him seriously. He's been banging the same drum now for so long that he must be due a new drum kit soon.

As for an insight into his writing style, let's take the intro to today's show-stopping journalistic moment in time.

"Shock! Horror! Politicans saying one thing in public - and another thing in private!
Jeez, Ted, what's the world coming to?"

If I read another series of double-barreled descriptions of 'Labour Lite'/'Fianna Failures' etc, or use of the word 'bollixology', I will crack. Yes he is merely reflecting the thoughts of many others in this country but a columnist for a national newspaper ought to be more disciplined in his writing.
