hi all, just booked our flights to Milan in few weeks time. flying with Ryanair so its Bergamo airport we fly into. Main reason were going is to go to Lake Garda but were going for 11 nights so hope to visit Venice, Verona and Milan also.
Anyone done something similar in same timeframe? Were not too sure how long would be adequate to spend in each area?
I was in Venice and Verona a good few years ago with my parents. Dont really remember much of Venice but i remember we went to Verona for day trip and it seemed like plenty of time there in just 1 day. cant remember how long we spent in Venice

Myself and the missus did Venice and Lake Garda last June. We only had 4 nights and did 2 in each. To be honest I think 3 nights in Venice is plenty. We would have loved to have stayed in Lake Garda that little bit longer though. I could easily spend a week alone there. We stayed in Malcesine and it is incredible.

have been looking at hotels in Venice for 2 nights and I cannot believe how expensive they are  700euro+
see some reasonable places to stay in Mestre or Lido di Jesolo - any advice on which area would be better?

I stayed central but another friend of mine went a few months before me and stayed in a place in Lido and said it worked out great. Hotel Panorama I think it was. A lot cheaper too if I recall.

We stayed at Lake Garda for 10 days and done day trips to Verona, Venice and Milan. Verona is lovely but small so a day or 2 is enough in it. The day trip to Venice was quite long from Lake Garda and I didn't like the city itself. I think it was because of the heat and the busyness of the place. Would like to go back Autumn/Winter time. I loved Milan and would have liked to have stayed there for 1 or 2 nights. Lovely city and the Duomo is incredible.

Lake Garda is amazing though, would go back tomorrow if I could! Lots to do and see and the lake is lovely to swim in.
