03 Corolla Radio Replacement advice

Hi All!

Love this DIY Sub forum for all the advice given on Detailing. My car is spotless from reading ye're posts!

I have an 03 Toyota Corolla. It has a standard Toyota radio like this one:



But I was hoping to put in a newer model, something more stylish maybe.

I know the standard readios won't fir in without a cover but i'm afraid that won't match the dash etc.

Has anyone any ideas or am I best leaving it as is?

Something like a double DIN touch screen unit won't look out of place in a corolla, in fact, some versions got them as standard.

I like that touch, that's what I was going for tbh!.. I was looking around the web but could only find ones from China which I have no intentions of getting.

Anyone able to recommend somewhere?

+1 on this thread, have the same stereo in an '06 corolla and wouldn't mind changing either

It'll fit, but you just need a facia adaptor

Cheers, I suppose its best get the radio first and then see what kind of facia adapter I need?

What I have actually been thinking about this is:
A) You'll lose your outside temperature reading by replacing this unit
You'll lose your fuel economy readings by replacing this unit

May be a small loss for you but I don't think I would take that too lightly if it was me

Double DIN is a standard size, so as long as the radio you are buying specifies that size, you should be grand to get any adapter for your car.

I think something like this is what your looking for.

I've seen youtube videos of similar systems before and they looked good. Best thing you can do is google reviews about your particular system you're looking at to see if its any good
