Seen a few companies advertising these type of jobs. Anyone ever work as one? Is the salary commission based, what are the hours like, much travel, company car, fuel allowance etc?

    Hi Nails1,

I was selling prostodontics for two years. They are usually VERY well paid. Company car, a lot of travel, and fantastic commission. Its generally sales based on relationships, and you might work with a client for months before they decide to purchase.

HOWEVER, they are extremely hard to get into. They usually require you to be very highly educated to masters level in a medical degree. The reason for this is if you are trying to sell cancer treatment drugs, an anti-epileptic agent like epilim, or medical diagnostic equipment like EKG machines or even surgical equipment like clamps, you need to be able to speak to the neurologist or surgeon eye to eye. So essentially you nearly need to be a doctor.

Sorry if it wasn't the answer you wanted to hear. I know the market is $h1t, I'm looking myself at the moment.

    Cojack

Agree with much of the above, family relative is in the medical sales game, earns over €100k most years, gets a brand new car every second year. You defintely need a medical background, she had been a nurse. It is very difficult to get into but not impossible if you're determined.
