    Why isn't is intelligent?

Fact that unfortunately answer is no, doesn't make question stupid.

I said it was not the most intelligent question I had ever seen, the person who posted it said it was a stupid question not me. I cannot understand what the problem is if the reg is from a different county.

There was a proposal made by the SIMI to introduce a system whereby someone could do a reg change to a different county but nothing has come of it so far.

If it was brought in I would definitely avail of it for my own car which has a poxy RN reg on it (no offence intended to any Roscommon members :pac:)

Thought so:D , No im a Cork Man Actually! Its a Higher Reg than 69, But its still an Early 10 Reg, So Keep Guessing. So now ye can undrestand why i want to change the Reg. Its like a Dub driving around in a Meath Car, They would do it but....

Because when it happens (reg is from different county) then the whole idea of having a country indicated on the reg number makes no sense.

Well Now that iv Got ye all Talking, & Pointing Guns @ each other:) Ye Might as wellgive me yer Opinion on the Car/jeep in Question , tIst a 1O Mitisbusihi Pajero Commercial with only 22,ooo miles on the Clock. Claims its one Carefull Lady Owner, Usual. its Has no Hitch, Looks very Clean allright, I think the Money is a bit Strong tho, Well they are nearly 40k new i suppose!

I have no idea what the problem with the reg is, perhaps I am leading a sheltered life and glad to be doing so but can someone actually explain the problem?

Don't trust the dealer mate. RUN a MILE

There may be a way around this people. Have the vehicle registered abroad. Bring it back in. Offer to pay VRT on it and get your local "C" on the plate. Sure, it'll cost you a bomb, but who would want a KY reg on their jeep?

If you reimport a car it gets its original reg number, doesn't it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 95 ✭✭Fermec

Its Def not worth all that Hassle, Jez It Would be easier buy a new Jeep! So you dont believe a 3 year old Jeep could only have 22,OOO Miles on the clock?... I Dont think any Reputable Dealer would chance Clocking Cars these days, or maybe im a bit Green.

A 3 yr old jeep would likely have 22000 kilometers rather than miles if it was first reg'd here

I'd happily pay (a few quid) to change the reg on any intended purposes.

I'm sorry but I think anything but a D plate on a big "premium" saloon just looks wrong. Plus as a Dub I'd prefer it anyway.
