I do not have one, but for the same money I would go second hand.

    I would suggest second-hand too.

Shimano 2300 is quite old fashioned and low spec, if you continue cycling you will want a new bike in a very short amount of time. Thumb shifters and 7-speed is now phased out by Shimano. New model bikes with equivalent spec are of noticeably higher quality with easier to find spare parts.

Also, it has a double instead of a compact, which may be a quite difficult gearing for beginners.

Never used this bike, but looking at it's specifications, I would not recommend.

Second-hand is a better option, but really if you think you will enjoy cycling and want to do it frequently, I would implore you to save a bit more money and buy a new bike equipped with the new Shimano Claris or Shimano Sora.
