Just wondering where do you guys find the best place to get your bike's serviced? would like to get mine tuned up for the summer and probably need a few new ferrules and cables. i dont mind price as long as the guys doing it do it right. ive heard a few horror stories from poor servicing!

Beecycles in Dolphin's Barn is one. The owner and mechanic posts here as Holyboy and gets plenty of good reviews from users (myself included!)

+1 for Bee Cycles, knows his stuff and is very helpful.

If you're much further out, the lads in Fitzcycles in Stillorgan are another good bet.

I've only ever had the bike serviced in Cycle Superstore in Tallaght. They're fairly quick with working on the bike and tend to keep and eye on things and do a little bit of tuning/cleanup related to anything I've had done. They cut a brake cable short on me once as it was wrapped around the bolt but they replaced it with a new one there and then as well as sorting me out with a new bolt clamp and cable ties so it worked out better for me in the end. They're a sound bunch of lads and don't undermine my intelligence like some places.

I'm not sure how much a service is now as they now have Bronze/Silver/Gold service options, I think they also have an option just for brakes/gears so it should be more cost effective for someone looking to get regular tuneups. The only problem I've had was they charged me more for a generic Shimano freehub than it would have been for me to get a better Deore freehub elsewhere but considering they're quick with the bike and tend to do little bits I didn't ask for it's a good experience overall. I just hope they'll service a Canyon when I get one in the future :)

Yep, Dara at Beecycles will give you a good seeing too for a reasonable price. The lads at cyclesuperstore are sound too. Never got anything serviced there though.

Alfie Wallace and Robin Seymour in Expert Cycles on Rathfarnham Main Street will look after you very well too!

Richie in The Cycle Inn is your only man: reputed as one of the best bike mechanics around, especially for roadies, but I know they do good work on a range of bikes. You will probably have a laugh as well, for free, if the mood is good which it usually is.

I find Think Bike in Rathmines to be very good. They are open early and late 8am to 7pm, which makes it easy to drop and collect the bike. They are pretty good for calling me if they find anything that results in unexpected costs. There was one job that I wasn't happy with, so I brought it back and let John know that I wasn't happy, and they did a top class job 2nd time round.

I choose them for a full service, they gave me a bike (very crappy one where i couldnt change gears) to get to work and back. they put new breaklines and brake pads along with tuning and oiling the gears. Cost 33quid in the end and i was very happy. They had it done by lunchtime that day too. I would go back.
