Has anyone tried the new feature that allows remote downloads to your PS3 & Vita ?

I tried it out yesterday and turned on my PS3 this morning and all was downloaded and installed. What a great job! The website is so much quicker and easier than the PS3. Its a far better solution to the slow store than what the PS3 can do.

I just wish the store worked on my phone's browser.

A good feature to have nonetheless.

Its a joke!....you have to flipping TURN ON the PS3

So what is the flippin point?...i thought when you pushed it would automatically turn on the PS3 and download....

So how is it any different to what we do now?....you could as easily turn on the PS3 and go to your download list, how is it saving any time or adding features?

Now if it turned on the PS3, downloadd the game and then turned it off....that would be ace!

    Otherwise its a gimmick

I guess you don't have plus or have the automatic download setup.

It get's added to be downloaded and when you have PS plus it will be downloaded automatically by that.

Do you have the automatic downloads setup then, and a time set?

There's already the wake on lan feature for remote play they may have a new option on the next firmware.

    eh?

If you have PS+, go to your settings on the PS3 and there is an option to do PS+ automatic downloads. You pick a time (say 4am-6am) and it turns on every day or two at that time and downloads whatever you have queued. Obviously you need to have it on standby/plugged into the internet.

yeah your going to have to set automatic updates on in settings on your PS3. However if you want something straightaway you will have to go to the PS3 yourself and ignore the feature.

I have broadband so it is feasible for me to have it turn on at 3am - download anything - install it and shut down. I also got PS+ so I have access to the free stuff. The next day when you switch on your PS3 a message appears telling you what the PS3 downloaded and installed. Once you hit X it goes away and your at the XMB. Pretty straightforward and very handy to save your time IMHO.
