    Hey All

Can anyone recommend wedding venues which cater for more than 200 people. Looking for something that isn't a hotel wedding - ideally would love to have a BBQ outdoors but anywhere that has that option seems to cater for only up to 140 people.

Anyone have any ideas...we are pretty easy on the location, but would like a lot of outdoors if possible.

    Thanks

be careful about planning an outdoors wedding ahead of time in Ireland... The weather is just so changeable you could end up having miserable wet day with the guests standing outside in the cold.
Heard of people doing weddings in glamping locations. Don't know what the guest limit is, but it's not a standard hotel and has a more outdoorsy feel to it.
You could also see if you could get a marquee for your numbers, you'd need a venue/park with the space and permission for putting up a marquee..

Take a look at the Millhouse in Slane.

They cater for your numbers, do BBQ meals and have a lot of outdoor space.
Also have camping as an accommodation option...

Alternative Weddings at Mount Druid would be perfect for what you want I'd say, if you're not afraid of rain.

A friend was there 2 weeks ago enquiring with same numbers and similar food request and they were looking for €75 per head, as well as having to organise bits themselves that the venue should have and decorate it theirselves.
He describe it as one of them places that appear cheap at €45ish per head but everything you need is an add on, and he wasn't looking for much added on but the prices kept going up and up. Their rooms are €140 per night and your expected to fill them all for the time your there.
Needless to say they walked away and booked Boyne Hill House instead.
