WP75SATHD firmware

    any suggestions where i might get the latest firmware for this box or does anyone know what the latest version is?

    is it possible to do a OTA update on this box from 9e or 28.2e?

    finally any chance of the satfree 7 day epg coming to this box?

    I doubt anyone here will be able to answer your questions. Walker have a contact page on their website http://www.walker.ie/pages/contact.html , but you'd be doing well to get a reply from them; I asked them a few questions 4 or 5 weeks ago about the WP95SAT-HD, but didn't get a reply. I was thinking of getting another one, but the doubt about the support (or lack of), has put me off.

    OP, I was wondering if you tried to contact Walker, and if you did, if you had any reply from them?

    Reason being is that I picked up a very cheap WP75SATHD with remote at a carboot sale yesterday, remote looks exactly the same as the one I got with the WP95SATHD and works perfectly with it, but the receiver hangs at the "init" bootup part.

    I opened up both to compare the boards, and they look identical, they have the same board number (16MB7100-4, Vestel branded), the only difference was the sticker over the chip near a JTAG connector, the 75 has a v5.8 printed on it, the 95 a v6.7. I peeled back the sticker on both, and as far as I can tell, the chip numbers are the same.

    So, if there was a way of getting the firmware from a 95, it might be possible to flash it to a 75. The 95 I have does have the 7-day EPG, and works great. The only problem is how to get it, or dump it, and flash it back to the 75, and the software to do it. Making a JTAG is easy enough, I've done it before. Unofficial support will probably be hard to find, perhaps there are other branded receivers with the same board, and it's been done before?
