    Hello!

Does anyone have a copy of the ACOI study material for certificate/diploma? I'd really like to look at the content of the course.

I need a copy of the the PDC 1 Compliance ACOI manual (Compliance and Regulatory Structure)!

    Thanks for any help everyone.

    Hi there,

I actually got a lend of a book for the first exam. It's not mine so I can't give it to you but I'd be happy to send you a photocopy of a chapter or 2 if you want to see what it's all about!

    Hi,

Can you recommend the course? is it all distant learning?

    are the exams tough?
do you know what the pass rate is?

there is very little information about people who have done this course.
Would be interested to hear a little feedback

    thanks
    C

Hi cp kiki, I'm currently undertaking the Professional Certificate in Compliance. I sat the PDC1 exam in January and passed it. I was due to sit the PDC2 exam in May but had to defer it until September due to illness. The course itself is all distance learning, you're sent a manual in the post when you register for the course. In addition, there are webinars for you to watch and on-line sample tests for you to attempt once you've read each chapter. There are also revision webinars and on-line question & answers sessions about a month prior to the exams.

I have an undergraduate degree in Economics, Politics & Law and a Masters in Law and I am hoping to apply for entry level Compliance and Regulation positions once I have obtained the Certificate in Compliance, and hopefully sit the PDC 3 & 4 exams for the Diploma in Compliance while in employment. I don't have any practical experience in compliance and to be honest I find the material for this course quite difficult. I spent at least 20 hours a week studying for the first exam and just scraped a pass. I found the questions that appeared on the exams were far more difficult than the ones in the on-line sample tests. I definitely think the course in its current form is more suited to those who have worked or are working in financial services/banking/insurance.

Hope this is a bit of a help for you.

Hi there, I am really interested in doing to Certificate in Compliance, but similar to yourself I have no actual experience in working in compliance. Just wondering how you got on with the course and if you felt it was of some benefit to you. Are you working in compliance now? Any info would be very much appreciated. Thanks a mill, A.

Didn't want to start a new thread...am just wondering if anyone who has done the cert/diploma has managed to get a job afterwards? Am interested in doing it but don't want to throw money down the drain if it's not worth it. Just off the back off a law degree and it's an area I'd like to get into.

I work in regulatory reporting in compliance. They encourage you to do these exams. Therefore im sure it would help greatly to have these if this is what you wanted to get into. This area is growing rapidly.

Thanks archie, good to hear from someone that's working in the area. Think I will register for the first module and see how it goes.
