..not unless you tell us which oil it is exactly - they make several.....it is written on the bottle.

Btw - Castrol currently have a recall on 2-stroke oil, due to water contamination, so make sure you don't use that one - it will lead to engine seizure.... : http://www.castrolmoto.com/en/home.php

Should say on the bottle somewhere?

For fully synth 2 stroke you'll be paying 15-20e a litre, most petrol stations etc wouldn't stock it in my experience, halfords & most motor factors would have it.

And its always clearly marked on the bottle.

I don't think there's a need for fully synth in garden machinery, its more for highly strung mx bikes & 2t motorbikes imo..

its on the owners manual to use fully synthetic it was running funny on semi synthetic oil i had in aswell so im not doing that again. it definitely doesnt say it on the bottle iv even checked the website. i was thinking if it doesnt state it, it just means its non synthetic? http://www.castrol.com/castrol/sectiongenericarticle.do?categoryId=9014237&contentId=7054294 thats the link it doesnt tell you if its synthetic or not either. 2 strokes are so fussy you have to do exactly what its says or they run a bit dodgy

    Its Mineral based oil.
According to the waste code anyway 13 02 05.
Looking at the JASO rating its only FB which is one step above the basic FA rating. It won't be synthetic with that rating.
Most Semi-syn and Full syn will be FC
If you want synthetic, Alco used to do a full synthetic oil that was pretty reasonable 10 per litre or so.
I use full synthetic in all my 2 stroke stuff, bike or garden, the difference in price isn't great and the difference in quality is apparent with little smoke from the full synthetic stuff.

good stuff cjhaughey! yes its definately mineral based, and i was stupid enough to try it in my 2stroke . all it would do is kick over once and get one puff outta the exhaust every pull. hope its not damaged and it goes alright when i get fully synthetic stuff during the week

I don't think it will be the oil, sounds more like a gunged up carb.
Its worth looking at Aspen premixed 2t if you are going to leave fuel in over winter.
