Just wondering if anybody has one of these combo boxes?

I bought a HD300 a couple of years ago and it's still in service, working fine. Only problem I've experienced is an occasional drop-out playing some video files from an external hard drive, although that may be more to do with the hard drive than the MVision unit. The original box was a bit of a turkey but I upgraded the firmware and it was the equivalent of a heart transplant... :-)

I've been toying with the idea of buying a TV for the bedroom with satellite and terrestrial tuners incorporated, but the hassle of switching from Sat to DTT makes me prefer the idea of using a combo box which would have all channels on the one menu....

Any feedback on the above unit would be greatly appreciated....or if there's something that's clearly better, I'd like to hear about it.

The "must haves" is that it should play divx/avi/mp4/mkv etc media files from a USB stick through it's USB connection and it should be able to record either sat or DTT. Pause function would be nice too.

Suggestions for a decent TV to match appreciated also....32"....total budget is €500....including a wall bracket

    TIA

@TheCust - thanks for the reply....

I'm not too perturbed whether an STB or TV is saorview approved or not, I'm really looking for feedback on a particular STB of which I have an earlier incarnation (and am very happy with).

The 270 is actually about 3 years on the market.

It does not have a huge fanbase here, probably due to the fact that you can get a Ferguson Ariva 150/250 for half the price.
