Hi, I was working for years and had to stop last July. I am just wondering about the above question, as for the foreseeable future, I can't see anything changing in my life situation. All I have is my social welfare payments. Thanks.

If you are currently on Illness benefit and your illness/injury is not going to be healed in the two year period you should apply for Disability Allowance well in advance of your Illness benefit running out.

Discuss your options with your GP and see what their opinion is.

It all depends on what you mean by your question though as it is not specific, I took it to mean about Illness Benefit.
