Another splinter group in the IRA, now the R-C-IRA

    Just reading a site there http://www.fourthwrite.ie/?p=162 that reports of another new strand of republicanism. This group are apparently a splinter breakaway group of the Continuity IRA styling themselves as the Real Constinuity IRA (RC-IRA). They are headed by another army council.
    So in all that makes five current IRA army councils. The R-IRA, C-IRA, P-IRA, Oglaigh na Heireann and now the RC-IRA.

    One could ague that RAAD is another one.

    What is most worrying though is that in seeking to establish themselves and to be seen as player to be reckoned with is that they might attempt a "show of force" and commit an act of terror.
    The site is scant on details though.

    Apparently training hard in the Galtee mountains, about to unleash a campaign in the name of the Irish people, and in pursuit of Irish unity, are the "I can't believe its not the IRA":rolleyes:

    Think about it from the point of view of a physical force Republican;

    The Provos were very centralized so by co-opting the Army Council the British were able to take out the whole organization.

    By having various centres of resistance that ceases to be a danger.

    This is as much a strength for the physical force Republican partisans as a weakness.

    Take out? Since when does getting fought to a standstill and ending up eating humble pie, qualify as taking them out?

    The only source given for this is Andersonstown News, a Sinn Féin paper.

    Reality is sometimes stranger than fiction.

    That's the limerick group who that woman who murdered the fella a few years back is in.

    Most republicans despise them.
