Ok, I know this has been discussed before but I just wanted to see if anyone had any new ideas on this. I have several weddings to attend this year (must have been something I did in a past life!!). I'm unemployed but my gf is working. I think that if we give E100 as a pressie then that's more than enough. Considering we also have to kit ourselves out, drive there, drinks, overnight stay etc. Is E100 appropriate?

100e is plenty, it covers the cost more or less (probably) of your dinner etc. Plenty of other people at the weddings will give half that, and plenty more will give double it.

Whatever you can afford is appropriate.

€100 for a couple attending the full day is perfectly acceptable.

That's loads. If you're unemployed, even scale back to €75. How good friends are they of yours? Even €50 is appropriate.

100 is very generous, especially for your circumstances. No one is going to think less of you if you cut back even more if you have multiple weddings to go to.
