    Hey

Have a pine wardrobe, baby on the way so doing up the room it is in with baby kit, the cot etc are all white so was looking to buy white wardrobe but someone mentioned about just painting it...went to B&Q(I know) and looked around and they recommended just painting with Ronseal One Coat Cupboard Melamine & MDF paint. Was wondering is this the best way? I was just going to paint by hand, well wife told me that was the way I was doing it...

Just checking is this the best way or should I look to spray it? if spraying does anyone know places that do it and how much it costs? Thanks

    Hi,
The paint on / brush on stuff doesn't look great depending on what type of melamine coating is on the robes in the first place.
I've seen them sprayed in a few renovations & the finish looked quite satisfactory.
Lots of painters / painting companies will spray it on site - as nothing special is required to do so. They'll Just take the robe outside and spray it on a blanket or something to cover the ground around where your spraying.
Some colours / faux wood grain finishes in the mdf / melamine covered furniture does lend itself to brushed on paint though, its all about astethics and what finish your trying to achieve.
Just be careful you don't get into a cost to do the repaint that would buy you a new color robe from IKEA or somewhere ! :D
