Hi I am looking for a little guidance here. I have recently had a tax return from the UK where I am working as an offshore employee. This was a full tax return on the basis I was working at sea for 183 days in 2012.

However do I need to declare this tax return to the Irish Revenue. I am a resident in Ireland. If I do how do I go about claiming it back off them for being non domicile (as I was out of Ireland for over 183 days).

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Contact an international tax consultant (expensive).

That's the only advice this forum can give you. The "183 day rule" is only one of a set of criteria for tax residency, it's complicated.
