Greece and Turkey will still be very hot in September.

The Canaries would be very pleasant.

    As for the hurricane season:

    Caribbean hurricane season rhyme

June - Too Soon (first month)
July - Standby (for any news of a storm)
August - You must (prepare in case a storm comes)
    September - Remember (to standby)
October - It's all over (last month)

If you go really far south, they are generally ok - Aruba, for example. However, that is rainy season - the weather will still be nice, but it may rain at night.

Technically hurricane season isn't over until the end of November, but I think August/September are the most active months because the water in the Caribbean is so warm. The best time of year in the Caribbean is early spring - hot days, cool nights, good sea breezes, and relatively dry.

Would really recommend Crete for September sunshine.
