Maybe this has been been done to death but here goes anyway.

I've an old Thomson HD box and its on its last legs. HD recordings stall and stutter. It sometimes happens with SD but not as often. Watching recorded programmes is ridiculously impossible - picture pixelates and audio stalls. It's so frustrating.

I need a new box. What will ths cost me?

What's the best way to approach this with Sky?

As its a Thomson box you should get a free HD box from sky. Sky are currently trying to get all Thomson boxes out of the system, in preparation for new Card security system.

Ring sky and tell them your issue they will ask for the serial no on box if its a faulty one they will send you a new box which you install yourself

    Thanks.

I called Sky yesterday and I'll have a new box on Tuesday next at no cost.

I got a call from the Sky engineer yesterday at 1630. He asked if I had a Sky service call booked for Tuesday next and then said he coud call within the hour if it suited me - which it did.

He called to the house and looked at my aged dish and said that he'd replace it FOC.

So I got my faulty HD box and dish replaced - all for free and less than 2 days after the call.

    Happy out.
