    Hi all,

I am travelling to Dublin from the UK next monday and I have been trying to organise a bus to Dundalk on arrival.

First of all I would like to say that I find the Bus Eireann website quite poor and difficult to navigate. The lack of maps is also disappointing.

Basically i need to know what bus to get. How long it will take me to get from arrivals to bus stop. And how late does the bus go. When can i buy tickets etc.

Is the route from arrivals to bus stop self explanitory?

Are you coming into terminal one or two? What time do you arrive?

You want the 100X from bus stop Zone 11 at the airport.

The Bus Éireann stops are outside the arrivals area of terminal 1 and should be signposted.

The 100x Dublin Bus leaves from Dublin Airport at 20 mins past the hour, every hour from 720am to 1020pm, and again at 20 mins past midnight. Travel time to Dundalk is 1hr 15mins. Timetable is here.

The 100x - according to the timetable - leaves from stop 11 on Atrium road, which means, when you leave terminal one, walk through the car park building through to the bus area. Its a 1 min walk from the Terminal building to the bus area. Allow a further 5 mins if you're walking from terminal 2. You will also need to leave sufficient time to get from your arrivals gate to the front of the terminal - that could be anything from 5 to 15 minutes, depending on which gate you're coming into.

From terminal 1 it's a couple of minutes walk from the public area of the airport to the stop you want to get to. You want to get the 100X towards Dundalk. It's timetable to pick up at the Airport at 20 minutes past the hour and any time I've been on it it waits if it's early. First bus is at 7.20am and last is 20 past midnight.

EDIT: Was much too slow replying. :pac:

www.a-b.ie and take a look at the Dublin Airport maps here: http://transportforireland.ie/maps/

Option 1. The direct bus is the simplest option, although there is the long wait. Fares: http://www.buseireann.ie/inner.php?id=238Service 100X
    8.00 : Adult Single
    12.50 : Adult Rtn
    12.00 : Adult Day Rtn
    7.50 : Child Single
    11.50 : Child Return
    11.50 : Child Day Rtn
    8.00 : Student Single
    12.00 : Student Rtn
    34.50 : Family Rtn
    53.00 : Adult 10 Jny
    42.50 : Student 10 Jny

Option 2. An alternative would be to get any bus (route 16, 33, 41/a/b (€2.40-2.80 adult) are the best, but there are also the more expensive (€6 adult) Aircoach or route 747 to O'Connell Street) to Dublin (Parnell Square or Drumcondra Station) and get a Matthews Coaches route 901 from Parnell Street at 23.30 or Drumcondra train station a few minutes later. http://commuter.matthews.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2&Itemid=11

    Fares: http://commuter.matthews.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=4&Itemid=6
    Trip Price
    Single Trip €9.00
    Return Trip €14.00*
    Ten Trip €60.00*
    Student €55.00**

    * no expiry date on return or ten trip tickets
** must produce valid student card

Option 3. You could get route 101 to Drogheda Train Station (note this is separate to the bus station and you will need to ask the driver to stop) and then a train to Dundalk. However, this get you to Dundalk only 10 minutes earlier than the direct route 100x.
