Failed 100% CA module

Did a single semester module which had 100% CA, consisted of one essay.

What happens if I fail this? Is a repeat assignment given for over the summer, or do I have to resit the module?

I have looked at this page which explains the three categories:

    https://www4.dcu.ie/registry/examinations/resits.shtml
Category 1: A resit is available for all elements of the module

Category 2: No resit is available for 100% CA module (this module must be taken as a repeat in the next academic session)

Category 3: No resit is available for the CA element (must resit exam even if passed exam already)

Looking here: http://www4.dcu.ie/registry/module_school.shtml at the module in question it says that it is "category one". Which suggests that Autumn resits are a goer, so happy days. However is that a mistake given what category two says, or is that just certain 100% CA courses? (were you are marked for weekly labs as an example, can't exactly resit them can you?)

Just having a crisis of confidence after submitting work which was far from my best for various reasons, any reassurance would be welcome. I have no problem with doing it over the summer or in Autumn as I have deferred exams to do, but repeating the module next year would be a massive pain, and perhaps too expensive. (how much would that cost?)

    Many thanks.

I had a 100% CA module last year and anyone who failed it just had to write a new essay over the Summer and submit it by a certain date. It's probably the same for your module but if in doubt, send your lecturer an e-mail to ask.

did you have to pay the resit for exam fee to just submit your essay again?
