Frogspawn

Saw some frogspawn in a pool that was drying up at the bottom of a water trough, so I decided to scoop the lot in a jar. Atm the jar is standing in another puddle to help them adjust to the temperature in the puddle but this one looks like it'll be gone soon.

I was thinking of moving them to a spring where there's a stream when they hatch or should they be moved now? Or could I put them in a trough that's not being used as it has grass, algae, insects etc that they can live on? (Sorry about the huge photos).

Unless you have an oxygenated fish tank for them I'd recommend putting them into a pond immediately to give them the best chance of survival

Put into a pond. Don't put into running water stream/river, they won't survive. They need still water. That frogspawn must have been laid very late. They should be tadpoles by now.

I would've done the same but afaik it's illegal to take frogspawn despite efforts of saving it

I put them in the streamyesterday, it's pretty slow flowing and I left them in a still part so they'vegot the best chance I could give them. Im sort of familiar of the law oninterfering frogspawn but they had no hope there, and if not that they might havegotten trampled on by cattle moving in soon if i left them there.

    Thanks for all your help!
