I've just noticed that the high 3rd brake light on my 2005 hatchback has stopped working(2 ordinary brake lights working).Would I be right in thinking that the led lights in these things don't give trouble,so the fault may lie with the loom?
    Also,is it a NCT failure?

Yep, the wires get stretched and break where they enter the bootlid, through the rubber boot at the top of the bootlid (passenger side)

Same thing happened to mine, but I also had the light in the boot stopped working and when I opened the bootlid the rear wiper would start and move over and back one time.

I cut open the rubber boot and twisted a new piece of wire onto the three broken wires, covered with insulating tape and it's all worked fine since.

I think the faulty brake light is a NCT fail, but not 100% sure on that.

I had the same problem, could be the break light switch, its located under the floor on the passenger side, simple plug out old one and plug in new one replacement, €15 on micks garage for the part, just make sure the yellowish screw type thing is set to the same length as the one you replace

on a side note they had a recall for that wiring loom in the boot, got mine replaced about a year ago
