Had an assignment due a fews ago but didn't get it in on time. Can submit it tomorrow with a 10% penalty. Not sure if I'll get it in on time. Anyone know what happens if you fail to submit an assignment? Does it get marked 0 or do you get to repeat the assignment at a later date? Pass mark for the module is 40%.. It's all marked by continuous assessment..

Normally late submission is marked at zero, but refer to your course on the book of moduless to check.

Different rules for different departments. What one are you in?

Failure to submit an assignment means you get a mark of zero. If you go onto fail the module you may have to repeat the assignments in the summer.

Going to hand it up alright. Is it 10% off your mark like if you get 50% do you get 45%?Or 40%?

40%. They take the solid 10% off the mark.

Thanks. Have another module where it's 20% if submitted late. So anything under a 2.1 in the assignment and you'll fail. Do you have to pass every element of a module in order to pass the whole thing?

20% is very harsh. It varies from department to department so your best bet would be to email them and find out whether you can still pass without having passed every aspect!

Think 20% is for 2 weeks though and it's 10% for 1 week. Still seems harsh though! Cool, I'll give that a try so, thanks.
