    Hi,

I have taken 2 win7 syspreped laptops out of the box, and started an automatic update on them, after reboot, I cannot get onto the internet over ethernet.

I can see that the network card has an ip address, and can ping 8.8.8.8, but cannot ping www.google.ie.

If I go onto a wifi connection I can get to google etc normally.

The machine created 2 system restore points, and have gone back to both, but no joy

I have setup a number of these machines before today, but had no issues.

anybody got any ideas or tips? (or having the same issue...it is probably a new update)

    sounds like DNS

firefox manages it's own dns so try swapping browsers

    use nslookup to test it
    nslookup www.google.ie

    might also be malware :(

cheers, I'll take a look tomorrow.

I did a flushdns, but no luck...

I would be surprised if it was malware, they are just out of the box, and there are loads of others, with the same image working away.
