I home made this one ages ago, I got a reflector bracket, and put a 1/4 inch bolt through one end. If you pad it well with foam or rubber, it works well enough. Cut up bits of old inner tubes worked a treat for me.

Probably only suitable for normal, small digital cameras.

Thanks for that - i knocked up something similar to that (looks like it could have been the same bracket) but there was an awful lot of vibration. hoping to get rid of as much vibration as I can. I could try lashing more tubing around the bars.... :)

    Maybe something like that? http://dx.com/p/bicycle-bike-handlebar-mount-for-camera-black-69116

With a normal camera though i don't think you ll get rid of the vibration. Get a gopro :p

The boardsie solution to any problem - spend more money :)

I have a liquid image ego which is a nice wee camera. Takes very nice footage, just need to sort out a mount.

You'll get a much more stable video if you strap the camera to your head or helmet.

id rather the camera on the bars - not mad on the helmet mounts.

I know what you mean..I have a go-pro and i've used the helmet mount. Great video but i felt (and probably looked) like a right dork! :)

I bought a "K-Edge" handlebar mount, but i haven't used it yet. I suspect it will be fine as long as i don't hit any potholes!

i ordered one of the ones astra linked to. 5 euro including delivery - Looks like it could be stable - the camera will be mounted directly over the bars, its an aluminium brakcet, that looks like it can be mounted nice and tight. Ill let you know how It goes.

was just going to suggest ram mounts - http://www.ram-mount.co.uk/components-ramb-10-dia-c-238_286.html ,just got my order today, quality stuff

off topic - the k-edge mount is fantastic - have it myself. be careful with the allen bolts- one of them on mine has began to sheer somewhat. partly my fault as i kept changing what bike the unit was mounted to.

on topic - the ram mounts are class as well. lads i know on the motorbikes have them for their go pros.

lenny - isn't spending more money the answer to all bike problems and not just a boards thing ? :)

looks a bit flimsy - i did have a plastic mount that broke previously.
