no motor tax, new owner

    Hi guys.

    Just a quick question. I am buying a car which has not tax disc for the last 5 months. Am I liable paying the last 5 months even as a new owner?

    also if you can hold off for a few days, then you wont have to pay for the month of April...

    i don't know but you could always declare it off the road for the last 5 months Great loophole, dont have to pay the back tax :D

    You're only liable for tax from when you own it, i.e. date of sale as signed on the vlc.

    As said, you could 'park it up' for the rest of April so you can tax it from May onwards :)

    Don't do what that poster said, do not declare it off the road for when you didn't own it, its incredibly stupid and pointless.
