Cycling Ireland EGM

As most of you know, the board of Cycling Ireland have again decided to nominate Pat McQuaid for the position of UCI President.

However, it is not too late to do something about this. By my reckoning, the UCI accept nominations up until 23rd June 2013 (90 days before their annual congress). Therefore, there is still time to organise a Cycling Ireland EGM where members can have their say and, if deemed necessary, have the decision to nominate Pat McQuaid rescinded.

I have emailed the club secretaries of all of the affiliated clubs of Cycling Ireland urging them to organise themselves to take this step. I've had some positive feedback and some not so positive feedback but I still feel it is possible to have this EGM called.

I urge you all to also contact the club secretaries to let them know how important this issue is and that they should do what's right, and submit the necessary requisition for the convening of a Cycling Ireland EGM.

I have attached a file containing the email addresses of the secretaries of all relevant clubs (as publicly listed on the Cycling Ireland website).

    All the best,

    Cillian
