Front shock absorbers E200 question

    Hi,
I have a 2005 Avantgarde E200 which needs the front shock absorbers replaced so I’m looking for advice. I’d be very comfortable doing this myself however I have trawled the net and I can only find samples/videos/images etc. of suspension units that run outside the coil spring being fitted and nothing similar to the E200 setup which is all one unit. I’m wondering if it’s just best to leave it to a garage.
Any advice would be appreciated regarding how much I should expect to pay for this in a garage. If I was to do this myself what shocks should I go for? There seems to be a serious difference with prices on the net (between here and UK). Would I need specialist tools such as clamps for the springs?
I have a lot of mechanical experience with motorbikes so I don’t mind getting stuck in but if it’s not worth the effort I’d be happy to have this done.
    Thanks
