building regs - tech guidance doc part B - fire safety

    Hello all.........I am looking for a copy of technical guidance document for fire regulations (part B) from 1997, I can only find the 2006 document on line....can anyone out there show me where I can find online.

    I need to check the requirements for escape through windows for an upstairs converted bedroom from this era

    An escape window under the TGD 97 should be 850 high by 500 wide, clear ope, the bottom of the window should be between 800 and 1100, accept in case of rooflight where the lower figure is 600mm. and the slope of the roof for both dormers and roof lights should not exceed 1.5 m from the cill to the eaves. The ground beneath should be free of obstructions and suitable to support a ladder.

    You probably would have to contact the Government Publications Office in Molesworth Street to buy a paper copy.
