For my sins -I'm in the market for a 12 - 13T digger - had a Cat before and should've never sold it but lads are saying to go for a Hitachi now ... I've conflicting views on them though .. Is the 130-1 FH or an EX 130-1 the best of them or would a FH 130-3 be still ok ?

Most are saying to stay away from a -2 or -3 Ex ?

Are the FH 150-1 really that bad ? Have been offered one - but have been told to run a mile ?

Any info at all will be appreciated
    Thanks

Fh130-3 Are as Good as bullet proof I have a lot of expierence with all that you mention down trough The years, The dash 1 fh 130 had problems with over heating And was fond of boiling however when fiat hitachi launched The dash 2 fh 130 they modified The cooling system, not enough as they faced The same problem on a lesser scale, The fh130-3 was then introduced in 1994 with a Much bigger rad And it worked a lot better, however it still had a tendancy To get warm.
You should pick Up a fairly Good fh130-3 for around 10k or The newer model ex135 for 14k upwards
The chains only have 43 links on fh machines And ex120 pads don't fit unless you get The gas To The holes, The main pin tends To wear beside The cab, The waterpump And starter Will Go at somestage.
That's The bad side of The fh130-3 The Good side is they Are reliable parts Are easily got nice To drive And a mizer on diesel.
Stay away from a 150 of any hitachi kind they Will give you a heart attack And break Your nerves system And then laugh at you when Your broke amd it needs an engine
Also if Your looking at machines outside of a dealer ring mcsharrys with The serial number they Will give you The history them being The main dealer, a lot of stolen machines bei g advertised Up north on done deal so beware And check everything.
