...at BMW Welt, attached to the factory.

I have to say, I like it. And I'm an Audi guy :D

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

First BMW I've liked since the F10. Hate Those wheels though.

    Hate Those wheels though.

I like the side view, but the front and rear bumper/spoiler yokes and silly wheels make it look pre-'felted.

    De-badged. Must be a 418d

I'll only ever see that as a poor mans 6 series.

Same as porsche 911 and the boxster.

    Naw, it's just a rebadged 3 coupé.

Wouldn't mind being poor enough to buy one myself!

Exactly. Can't understand the hoo-hah. The 6 was a new category for BMW, or at least a new one in recent history (hard to believe it's been 20 years). The 4 is a nothing, localised badge engineering.

That said, I like the look of it. Zero interest in driving it though. It'll be a long time before a 3 series will overtake the e30 M3 on my wish list.

I actually like the wheels, gives it character :)

Can you leave the motoring clichés for top gear please?

That and any man who wants a 6 series over a 911 needs his head checked.....

4 series looks nice, shame it'll be towards the end of the year before we see one.

I think his badly made point was that the 4 series to the 6 series is like the boxter to the 911. It took me a minute too!! Either way, his point is nonsense.

Bmw with no run flats is not a bmw! To destroy spine all together we will put your area on 20 inch rims!!!

You guys realise the wheels can and will be changed from region, price, engine, trim etc. Its not like "this is it". :p

I am right in saying that this is just the concept car right? Production model still has not been revealed.

    Looks like an A5.

Really looks like a 3 series coupe

BMW are getting like Audi and not bothering their arse with any new designs - just the reduction button on the photocopier.

That's because it is a 3 series coupé. It replaces the 3 Coupé in the lineup.

That looks like the concept they were showing off at recent motor shows.

And just to add there will no longer be a M3 coupe. The M3 will be a saloon and touring only. The coupe and convertible will wear a M4 badge.

The 'concept' written on the plates is a give away alright.

Although to confuse matters, there may be a 4 door 4 series as well.

    Looks like a Kia.

That will carry the GT badge to compete with the Audi A5 Sportback. They did the same last year with the 6 Series GT as a rival to the Audi A7.

Yeah but none of them fall into 'affordable by regular person' bracket so I can complain about them anyway ;-)

No way will the 4 be as aggressively styled as this concept. I wonder if the top performance model will pull sales from the M3?

Ever seen the 'baseball' interior available on the Mk1 Audi TT's ?

It's a bit OTT. I like it on the seats and doors, but the drinks holder is a bit C & W - and the pillars should be black.

I saw in Insignia in Airside a while back with a not-dissimilar interior and I liked it.

Not really: it is the M3.

So the "new" 4 series is basically a 3 series coupe........riiiiiiiiiiiight
