Any one interested in vintage trucks, specifically tippers from the 70s/80s?? Been asked to keep an eye out for an old Scammel or Deutz so if anyone knows where one of either, any model, may be quietly rusting let me know!

If you go down to the Ferry terminal you may see the last of them heading off to a life in the tropics

There's a few chaps run 'youngtimer' trucks around town - one has a few Hino FH (?) , theres also an old Dodge in a yard near Guinness's :)

Johnty , I had one of each of them, long gone regretably.
Both were tractor units, the Scammel had a leyland 680 engine as I recall, drove it to the South of France once ,slept across the engine cover, it did 52 mph .

The Maguirus Deutz, had a V8 aircooled engine, comfortable and a nice driver.

You wouldn't know where there would be one of either laying around?

Sorry no, when lorry driving ,you can see lots of things in fields, not on the road now. The price of scrap and the export market for trucks mean everything is worth money.
