Typo on Christian name in Ryanair booking

I have just completed my first (and reluctant) Ryanair booking for myself and 2 companions, who unlike me were not prepared to pay a higher fare to travel with another carrier.

Unfortunately I now see on the confirmation email that I typed the Christian names of one companion not as Mary Elizabeth Nicolette (as on her passport) but as Mary Elizabeth Nicoletter. Her surname is typed OK.

Can anyone tell me if Ryanair are reasonably likely to let my companion through with this tiny error on her booking and if not, do I really have to pay 110 Euro to change it?

No they will sniff your reluctance to travel with them and search boards for all your nasty posts about them and refuse all three of you entrance onto their superb - on time - service!

Eh no, you'll be grand they won't even notice the extra letter as the most they'll be checking is the surname (and they don't tend to even look at that very closely), I've seen people getting through the check who were actually flying to a different airport!

I did this (with my own name ) a couple of years ago, and they had no problem changing it without charge when I rang them.

I'd say you will be grand I had to go back 3 times to find the mistake!

They will change it for you on the phone for the price of the phone call - I think you'd get away with it though

They'll change one letter for free.

I'm very encouraged by these responses.

I will try ringing Ryanair tomorrow and let people know what happened.

as a frequent traveller with ryanair, they only glance at the passport/boarding card, so i think you will be grand
however, knowing ryanair, you'd be worried...so just in case i'd be ringing them and i'd be very surprised if they charge you
interesting to hear how you get on with them this morning!

I am happy to say that the typo was corrected without charge or difficulty, so fair play.

The only thing I would say is that its a pity the reservation line closes at 6pm. I dont see why it can't be open later.

Otherwise they'd have to pay overtime and you be charged for any changes and most likely back complaining about that also...

People outside Ireland probably wouldn't be as familiar with Liam (although he'd probably get away with Bill or Will!) They'd have to be right arses to quibble with Tony/Anthony, though.

    Ring the reservations helpline.

Also, if you log into "manage my booking" you may find a chat-box comes up and you can mention the problem there.
