Close AIB Current Account

My current account has been empty and unused for about a year, I moved over to another bank because AIB didn't have their visa debit's yet. Now with the charges, I want to close it. Will I be charged a closing fee? Will I have been charged fees over the last year even though the account has been empty and inactive?

    Thanks!

No charge to close, but it may have incurred fees while dormant.

You can normally close in writing, but obviously you need to know if there is an outstanding amount first that you need to clear.
